美国与伊朗之间的紧张局势持续升级，南加州的执法部门本月3日表示，“在密切监视中东的事态发展，目前没有针对南加州的可信威胁。”
洛杉矶市警察局本月3日上午表示，“没有针对洛杉矶的可信威胁，但警局正在监视伊朗发生的事情。警局将继续与州、地方、联邦和国际执法部门合作，就可能发展的任何重要情报进行沟通。警局致力于确保洛杉矶充满活力的多元化社区的安全。”
警方还鼓励“民众如果看到任何可疑事件，请立刻向警方报告。”
洛杉矶郡警长维拉纽瓦（Alex Villanueva）3日也发表声明，“洛杉矶有来自世界各国的人，确保所有居民和游客的安全始终是头等大事，洛郡警局密切关注中东局势的发展。目前没有针对洛杉矶地区的可信威胁，警局情报部门也配合各级合作伙伴，监视和调查可能出现的任何潜在威胁。”
